The Power in the Name of Jesus Christ

Everything created by God or humans has got a name in accordance to its likeness and purpose. Each of those names are given for identity purposes only. Non of our beautiful names has got authority nor power to give salvation to any one. The power and authority of bringing Salvation to God's people is only found in the Name of Jesus Christ.

While filled with the power of the Holy spirit, Apostel Peter stated, "There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved except that of Jesus Christ, Acts 4:12.

As we proceed to understand the power of Salvation found in the Name of Jesus Christ, we shall begin by understanding the origin of Jesus Christ Himself and His Name.

To every parent, whenever God blesses you with a new born child, it is obvious that a name is given to that new born, the source of that name is the child's parents or family. That is why there is no stranger who will ever give a name to another person's Child.

Right before Jesus Christ was born, God sent an Angel to tell Joseph and Mary that when the child will be born, He should be Called Jesus Christ because he was going to save his people from their sins, Mathew 1:21. That points at God of Heaven as the father and origin of the name of Jesus Christ.

As I told you earlier, the farther or the family member is the one who Names their child, by him being named by God, its evident enough that Jesus christ is a Child of God, as it is written; "For God so loved the World that He gave His only Begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have an everlasting Life" John 3:16. Apart from just having a Name given by God of Heaven, this Same name of Jesus Christ came with a full duty of bringing salvation to God's people.

At one point, it is noticed that among other reasons for the coming of Jesus Christ on Earth was to glorify His Name. A moment before His Crucifixion, Jesus Christ said “For this purpose I came to this hour.Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”The people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”but Jesus answered them, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake.Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” - John 12:27-32.

While Jesus Christ was about to physically leave the Earth, He realized that it was required to leave His Name with Power on Earth for His followers so that they may continue to exercise His spiritual power through His Name. It is written, "when you ask anything in my Name, I will do it" John 14:14. It's also written, at the mention of His Name, Every knee shall bow down, of those in heaven and on Earth, philippians 2:10-11.

In brief, whenever you do or say anything in the Name of Jesus Christ, you will have spiritually surrendered the responsibility of what will happen next to Jesus Christ, the ownership and responsibility of your act will immediately shift from you at that moment to the owner of the Name, who is Jesus Christ. That is why, regardless of your gander, race, origin or stature, as long as your a believer of Jesus Christ, you have full authority to do as much things and wonders as Jesus Christ did using His Name.

For its written; “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. - John 14:12-13.

For you to benefit from the power in the name of Jesus Christ, you need to accept and believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Saviour, obey Him and follow all His teachings. God bless you.
